Greetings --

While some of your frustration is understandable, you're blaming
the wrong party. As it was your "friend" who sold you the pirated
software, either ask for your money back, or report him to your local
police; you've been defrauded. Whichever course you choose, you might
think about choosing any future friends a bit more carefully.

Activation is not "crap." WPA is nothing more than a
copy-protection and an anti-theft mechanism, and it's certainly one of
the least troublesome and least intrusive forms of software
copy-protection that I've yet to come across. Perhaps you prefer the
hardware dongles that must be attached to the parallel port to enable
an application to work? Or how about having to fax a document signed
by a company officer certifying the number of installations before
being sent a code to enable the software? Or would you prefer
performing the application installations at bizarre hours of the night
because you have to call another time-zone during the installation in
order to obtain the necessary registration code from a company
representative?
