thanks for answering. I wasn't very clear about my problem, sorry (and I reposted it to the print&fax group) . I do know how to install/share a printer on a server and how to connect/install it to the clients, and it works very fine with all applications except one, but ...
To be specific: I don't want to change the share name from "HPLaser" to "Laser", but I need to get rid of the idiotic " on MyServer" string attached to the printer name in Control Panel - Printers of the WinXP client computer.
If it's not possible, can anyone explain why Microsoft disabled this option in Win2000/WinXP? On Win9x/Me this option was available...
