Works File Problem

I am receiving the following error message while trying to access a file on CD-RW and would like to know if there is a way to recover the file. "Warning! Cannot access the file for document E:\Construction.xlr you have open, but it is required. If the file is on a network, check network connections and then click retry. Cancel will result in at least a loss of all changes since last save." It is not part of a network and I desperate need the information in the file. HELP!
