Index errors are software issues,bad sectors would be hd problems.
Also,the cmds you made are invalid to run in windows,or on boot up..Try
run,
type:cmd In cmd type: CHKDSK C: /F or /R Agree to restart,type:EXIT
Go to run,type: services.msc In msc,locate "Indexing service",start the
service,
let the pc repair indexing,the hd LED light should show it use.Once its
thru, restart pc...Also,the hard drive MS-DOS check utility from the hd
mfg,simply gets installed to a MS-DOS formatted floppy,then boot pc to
floppy,all the BS pointed out before isnt needed..
