Hello, My name is Chazz. Now that I
have seemed kind, excuse me if I turn
a bit hostile. This computer is driving
me nuts. I've never encountered a
problem I could not diagnosis and/or
fix, accordingly, in the past decade.
Until now.
------------------------------
System specs ;
Windows XP SP2
KN8 Ultra mobo
512x4 DDR RAM cards
Western Digital 200G HD
Not certain on the Power supply.
Soundblaster Audigy 2
GeForce PCI-E Video card.
-------------------------------
System is BSOD'ing on me. After login
I have roughly ten to twenty seconds
before it locks and kicks me with a
STOP: 0x00000019, and a BAD_POOL_HEADER.
I disabled the restart on error to acquire
that much. I've disabled windows indexing,
and attempted to find an established
problem in the Event viewer to no avail.
The best I can pull out of there is ;
Event Type: Error
Event Source: System Error
Event Category: (102)
Event ID: 1003

And once I got
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
AmdK8
Fips
The BSOD does not occur in Safe Mode.
I've attempted Hard-drive health scans
from the WD Site, but they showed nothing
wrong with the HD. I've attempted cycling
the RAM chips, but no luck. The system does
not appear to be over-heating.
Anyone have an idea, short of saving up cash
and putting it in a shop?
PS; At first this only occured when attempting
to load AOL. Afterwards it took on a life of it's own,
it seems.

Chazz:
Although it's quite possible you're dealing with a hardware issue (possibly
some driver incompatibility for example), it's entirely likely the problem
is nothing more than a corrupted OS.
Have you attempted to run the sfc /scannow and/or chkdsk /r commands? If
not, you should do this.
If the BSOD gets in the way, boot to your XP installation CD, access the
Recovery Console and run the chkdsk /r command from there.
If no go with the preceding it might be wise to undertake a Repair install
of the XP OS. I assume you know how to do this.
