My Dell LCD monitor suddenly went blank/black whilst I was viewing the screen. When I connect a friend's monitor to the computer, using the same cables, the computer is working OK.
I notice that the LED light on the monitor, which indicates when power is available, is no longer on. The mains cable is OK. Presumably therefore this shows that the problem is a fault with the power supply inside the monitor.
Can anyone tell me if monitors have an internal fuse, or have any other information about the repairability of LCD monitors?
Thanks in advance.
Mike
If the monitor is not covered by the warranty it would be cheaper in the long run to purchase a new monitor. The price of a new monitor would probably in the range of the repair cost.
