I have a MS entertainment center 7000 keyboard and wireless laser mouse
8000.
These were bought as a package deal, which also included a blue tooth
transmitter\reciever.  I have used this combo for about 8 weeks without
many
problems.

The literature contained with the combo indicated that for optimum
performance I would want to use the blue tooth transmitter contained in
the
package, since it was optimized for the keyboard\mouse.  I did use this
transmitter, but the problem is with the software that was sent with the
combo.  I have used BT on this computer before; a DLink product that
enabled
me to connect to other BT devices.  When using the DLink product, I was
able
to connect to my printer via BT.  Unfortunately when I try to connect to
this
same printer I get a message asking for a passkey.  My printer BT adapter
does not support passkeys.  Is there any way around this?

Are you sure about that?  Some bluetooth devices have a fixed passkey that
should be in the documentation somewhere.  You may have forgotten this.

Another snag that I have come across is that the Bluetooth dongles supplied
with many wireless keyboard/mice sets are not fully featured and while they
will detect other bluetooth devices, they won't actually work citing all
manner of errors (if indeed they offer an error mesage at all).

If the Bluetooth dongle is using Microsoft's Bluetooth protocol stack,
you are not able to connect to a printer. Microsoft's Bluetooth
protocol is extremely limited since it can only provide COM ports and
LAN settings
.
