Guitar Hero 3 controller?

Has anyone any experience of using one of these on a PC?
Games site review states that "Fortunately, any USB guitar controller made
for the consoles will also work with the PC game."
Googling it seems that there are both wired and wireless versions.
I'm assuming that wired means USB but what about wireless? Is it Bluetooth
using a USB dongle?
