After I remove the USB keyboard and use the one on the notebook and hit a key

even log on.

I can't remove the USB keyboard from notebook and get the notebook's
keyboard
to function properly. When I hit keys on the notebook keyboard after
shutting down and removing the external USB keyboard, it does not display
them correctly. So what do I need to do to be able to use the notebook
keyboard?
