Re: Yellow Mark on Linsky Network Adaptor

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

If you have a yellow exclamation mark next to your wireless network card in
Device Manager then you can spend the next millennium trying to connect to
the internet using that device and you still won't get there. Until you
install the correct Vista drivers for that card it just plain won't work.

Peter:
I did every possible way to connect and get Internet. Practically, I
spent all day long from late morning to mid-nite yesterday in my attempt
to successful connection. However, for some reason I couldn't do that.

In the past, on other new PC with Vista, I successfully connected, but
this time, with this PC with Vista, I completely failed.

This afternoon, I went to a local PC store asking whether I should stick
to Wireless-route, sales/tech. Guy told me, ... Wired Route is much easier
along with a good security. Then, I purchased 50-ft. wire and now
enjoying a good Internet connection. Only thing I do not like is so-much
wire building up on my large desk, ... but I can live with it, ... seeing
that I got at least a good Internet connection.

For me, to make a long story short, ... I got to like 'Wired' rather than
'Wireless' as knowing that route is much easier and safer.

Thanks for the response.

Currently, there are 5 PCs Internet Connection in my entire household.

Two of five PCs are 'wired' connection and other, 3 PCs are 'Wireless.'
One of 'wireless' connection has an issue, ... got 'yellow' exclamation
mark
when I looked at Device Manager that causing 'No' Internet Connection.
Now, as seeing that this PC has been 'sporadic' Internet Connection
prior to this happen, then I started to think of 'wired,' instead of
using Linsky Wireless-G Adaptor.

Your opinion and suggestions would be truly appreciated.

You stated you had sparadic connection prior to installing Linksys, so
what type of connection wired or wireless?

Thanks both for the response.

NIC Card is perfectly OK.
I'm talking about Wireless Network Adaptor which has 'yellow'
exclamation mark on it when I looked at Device Manager. Also, I
suspect it's because of Adaptor when there is NO Internet Connection.

Probably, I should be better to use 'wired' by hooking-up directly
with Modem/Router, rather Wireless Adaptor?

Any suggestions on this would be very grateful.

Thanks,

So what your saying is this?
The NIC card hasn't worked since you installed it, and installing the
drivers from the manufactors CD are not accepted? CORRECT?

if so I would think your NIC card is bad from the manufactor, this
sometimes
happens, get a new NIC card.

I wonder about the steps you took to install the NIC, Usually you
install
the drivers first, then physically install the card, is this what the
instructions said to do, and did you do it this way??

Hi:
There is a 'yellow' exclamation mark on Linsky Adaptor on Device
Manager. I
installed the Linsky Adaptor about two months ago when I purchased a
new PC
with Vista. Hence, there is NO Internet Connection. Prior to this,
Connection was sporadic, but not this magnitude, completely stopped
working.

I did 'un-install,' and 're-install' by using an original CD,
however it
says, ... 'Driver' is something missing or the like.

Wonder how to correct the problem, 'Exclamation Mark' on
Network/Linsky
Adaptor? Other PCs have Internet Connection, even though one of PCs
has the
exact same Linsky Adaptor.

Thanks for any help on this regard.
