Bluetooth problems...

I had a MS Keyboard Elite for Bluetooth & an Intellimouse Explorer for
Bluetooth (bought as a set) set up on a conference room computer, that
worked quite well, until some idiot broke the bluetooth adapter!
I tried calling MS & they told me that the only way I could replace
the transciever was to buy the whole kit again. I was told that other
bluetooth adapters would work, so I bought a kensington model, that
worked ok for a short while.
Now, I have no bluetooth connectivity! I can get the system up &
running with a wired mouse & kb, & then go through the steps to
connect my mouse & kb. I can get as far as typing the code on the kb &
hitting enter, but then mouse & kb no longer work. If I try to
establish connection, I get messages that no bluetooth devices are
avaliable or no bluetooth service is available.
When installing the kensington adapter, it also installs bluetooth
software by widcomm.
Could this be conflicting with MS's bluetooth?
I removed all the Widcomm software, uninstalled the Kensington
Bluetooth adapter, let it re-install, only using the drivers, not any
extra software. Now whan I try to change any settings, like "Turn
Discovery On" or "Allow Bluetooth Devices to Connect to the Computer",
I get an error message, "Bluetooth Service Error" "An error occurred
while windows was saving your settings..."
I have installed the latest software for mouse & keyboard, but when
trying to connect, it doesn't see any bluetooth devices!
Any suggestions?
Help!
