Hi, I'm working on a friends pc, I have the tower with me at home and
was told that it freezes all the time.
I have just discovered that it's caused by the keyboard, the second a
key is pressed the pc just freezes up.
I can't tell you the make of keyboard he uses, but it's USB through
PS2
adapter. It's currently running with my spare keyboard which is a
Compaq
PS2 and it's fault free.
Any ideas?
Thanks.-
If the machine works fine at your house using a regular ps/2 keyboard,
then the issue is with your friend's keyboard. Have him use a regular
ps/2 keyboard or a regular USB keyboard, but not a USB keyboard using a
USB adapter.

Thanks Malke, it doesn't work with any ps/2 keyboard. It's showing the
exclamation mark in Device Manager so appears to have no driver
installed, I have the disc for the MOBO but can not find the ps/2
driver anywhere and even an auto install does not work and nothing on
the company web site either
(MSI motherboard and the ps/2 sockets are FOXCONN).
I'll try my wireless/usb keyboard in it to see if that has any effect
but I'm guessing that he will have to use his keyboard without the usb
to ps/2 adaptor.
