PM v8 works fine for me.
Thought of testing your memory, www.memtest.org , I've found some such apps
can fall over if memory is slightly iffy

In preparing for a future Vista installation, I am trying to merge threecould
partitions on one of my 30 GB HD.
I used a Partition program to merge an empty partition into a bigger one.
Each time, it errored out, and created a new partition on the HD.
Now I have 6 partitions. Ugh!
I also tried to use XP Pro's Disk Management to merge, but I could not do
that.
I also tried to use the free utility Partition Logic, but it froze; I
not use my mouse to select the OK button.the
One way to do is to do a complete reinstall of Windows, and repartition
entire HD, but this is the last thing I want to do, because it is such an
ugly procedure.
Any one have any recommendations, other than trashing Partition Magic 7?
Won't use it again!
BTW sorry if this is a double post. I did not see the earlier post on the
board.
