I have checked out the article on microsoft about this error

only problem is that there is no advanced tab in the device

so I need to be able to turn off the message. Any
suggestions?
Thanks

I checked out what you suggested and fall there was were options for
graphic
controllers and monitor drivers. So this isn't an option either but

Your looking under Universal Serial Bus controllers in device
manager,
right..?
Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller - 24CD
You should see something similar to the above, key word "enhanced"
right
click on the above entry if it exists, does it..? This should
reveal
a menu
window, select properties, see the advanced tab..?
Cheers

The computers that are affected by this are running Windows XP
Professional,
one has sp2 and one has sp1 and one has no service packs.
Thanks,

When posing questions of this sort it's really helpful to potential
responders if they have a clear idea of the precise problem and
software/hardware that's involved. To that end...
1. From your description there are three machines involved here, right?
Are
they all OEM machines? The same make & model?
2. Do you know the make & model of the motherboards involved? Are they
the
same in each machine?
3. Is there any reason that two of the machines have not been updated to
SP2?
4. Is it your impression that all three machines did not come equipped
with
USB 2.0 capability? That they had only USB 1.0 (1.1) capability and have
never been updated for USB 2.0 capability? All three of these machines
are
quite old?
5. Has this problem re the "Hi-speed USB device..." message appearing
just
recently occurred? Presumably your users have been using USB devices in
the
past. What has been their experience?
6. Are you inferring that you're willing to work with USB 1.0 (1.1)
rather
than USB 2.0 and that all you're interested in is finding a way to get
that
"Hi-speed USB device..." message to disappear?
So please respond to the above if you want to go on and include any other
pertinent details re the problem you're experiencing.

I am not looking for the an extremely technical answer. I am looking only
for someone who has had the problem with having no advance tab on the
device
manager and has either been able to resolve this problem or knows how to
turn
off the error messages by another mean. As I stated before this is a
small
company that has no IT person. The company is not interested in
upgrading,
so changing out to USB 2.0 cards is not an option. We all have basic
computer knowledge (such as being able to put in expansion cards, upgrade
memory) but beyond that there is no one here with technical abilities. I
have no idea about the motherboard make or model. Two of the computers are
Dell 2200 and on is a Dell 2400. They are not nor will they ever be
connected to a network nor are they connected to the internet. Thus they
haven't needed to be upgraded to sp2. They have what they came with from
Dell.
Out of eleven computers, all of varying age but all running xp, only one
has the advance tab in the device manager. This is the newest and the
only
difference is that it is running xp media center edition.
I am only interested in making the message stop. It pops up all the time
and is extremely annoying.

Does that work?
