What make and model laptop? This info will help.
Have you checked Device Manager to see of the ports are
disabled? Have you read the users' manual?

| hello,
|
| I bought a new usb mouse for my laptop, but it happens
something very
| strange when I plug it:
|
| on my laptop I have 4 usb ports but the mouse will work
only when
| plugged on two of them. (the ones on the left side, I am
right handed
| so it's really uncomfortable)
| when I plug the mouse on the other two ports widows tries
to load a
| driver, but it says it cannot find it... and mouse stays
unusable.
|
| I have win xp media center edition + service packs
|
| I tried the mouse on another laptop equal to mine (same
model and OS)
| and I got the same problem.
| I now know that the problem is not of my computer in
particular,
| caused by some hardware failure or software
misconfiguration.
|
| does anyone know how to solve it?
|
| thanx alot
| Giulio
