Hey Eric, from what I see there's a few oddities on a second look unless it's just me.
There are 2 boards:
http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?MenuID=16&LanID=0&DetailID=251&DetailName=Specification
1) M8484ALU (v2.1) which takes a SiS748/963L chipset and 3 RAM slots
http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?MenuID=16&LanID=0&DetailID=341&DetailName=Specification
2) M848A (V5.0) which takes a SiS746 FX / 963(L) chipset and only has 2 RAM slots.
Both are Socket 462 and use the same modules.
Take note that the BIOS string in the Everest report shows SiS746, yet the chipset shows SiS748.
As well it shows 8484A and not 8484ALU.
The BIOS string doesn't match either for what's shown on the mobo pages for the first or the updates.
However the BIOS update details for 8484ALU shows "Fix non-auto detect CPU Freq issue".
Something really seems out of sorts here and as I mentioned, it may just be me. After the Bears won yesterday I tipped a few, not in joy but to try and forget their p**s a** performance.

Formerly? What does it cost now?
In relation to this thread, it seems to be missing one vital piece of info, the speed of each RAM chip.
As Brian said, that MB supports DDR400/333/266/200.
All RAM chips should be the same speed, and jumpers likely need to be set if you switch to different speed RAM chips.

to produce actual makes, models, and web links for each piece of
hardware in your system. It does other things, as well but that's
basically what it does in relation to this thread.

Try the cpuz program I mentioned. It tells you what speed each of your RAM
chips are.
If you have 400 DDR and 333 DDR chips they won't work right together.
If you switch one speed to another you should need to switch a jumper on
your MB.
