Laptops are expensive to repair. And it is because of the custom
nature of the things (they can charge what they want, for a
replacement). Your symptoms sound like something on the motherboard
got cracked in the fall. USB and sound, share the Southbridge chip,
and it could be that the connections underneath the Southbridge got
broken. (The PCB underneath ball grid array chips cannot take a lot of flexing, and any heavy objects inside the laptop, will press hard on the motherboard, when the laptop is dropped.)

If you want to fix it yourself, you'd have to find a replacement motherboard. I'm sure Dell makes a hefty profit on such things.

You may find, that disassembling and reassembling, may temporarily
restore operation. But if solder joints are cracked, all it takes
is a bit of flexing of the laptop casing, to open the connections
again. So if you are determined to fix it, no matter how much it
costs, then replacing the motherboard is the next step.

Not many laptops are designed with the real world in mind. The chassis
are weak and flexible. But there are some exceptions.
