You can try, I don't have one of those laptops. I would thing you could access it in Control Panel and see what adjustments you could make. Or cover it up to test the theory.

Can I disable the touch pad through device manager? I've been using a wirless mouse for some time. I doubt that I'm accidently hitting the touch pad since the mouse isn't moving. Its the coursor position in a word document or when I'm fill out a web form I'll be typing my name in for exapmle and next thing I know I'm typing back at the begining of the line.

nope. This just starting happening th elast 6 months or so.Hey, George, please try Bob I's suggestion. Disable, temporarily, the touchpad & temporarily install a USB mouse, for instance. I had the same problem which my wife or neither of my daughters, excellent typists btw, could reproduce. Funny how one can unknowingly touch the touchpad accidentally. I now always use the small, laptop-designed mouse. HTH, and sincerely hope you try this. s

I've had an intresting problem occurr recently on my Dell Inspirion 8200
Laptop. Whenever I'm typing in work or Internet Explorer the cuson will jump
around. One minute 'll be typing a sentence and before I know it it will
jump to the start of the paragraph or adiffent part of a web form. I've
went as far and took it in to have it looked at and they couldn't reproduce
the error. The ran a hardware scan and the only erro rthey found were my
fans were not working. Any idea what I can do to resolve thi sisue. Do you
think this could be related to corrupted OS or software and should I think
about rebuilding the pC from scratch. Basically wipe the drive and reload
everythinmg. Do you think this could be related to my fans not working. I
even tried reseating the laptop keyboard to see if this could be the issue.
