I have a new notebook computer w/ Windows MCE on it. I repartitioned and
reinstalled MCE when I got it. I have all of the Windows Updates. I'm
not
sure when it happened, but at some point after the install, Windows
decided
it knows nothing of the CD/DVD drive. It doesn't show up in Explorer or
in
Device Manager. The drive is recognized in the BIOS, and I have
confirmed
that it works just fine. (I can boot from the Windows setup disc just
fine;
I'd just rather not have to reinstall if I don't need to.)
I followed the instructions here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/320553/en-us
but that appears to be just if it is lost from Explorer but is still
recognized in Device Manager. And yes, I've scanned for updated
hardware
countless times now. :(
Anybody have any ideas on this? I'm really at a loss...
Thanks in advance for any help!
