Try using the device manager to detect new hardware, i.e.
the monitor? Why isn't it connected when you boot the
computer?

| Here is what I am running
| 2 Computers, XPpro/sp2 , NEC lcd, ATI 9600xt and KVM
switch. I updated
| my monitor to a Viewsonic VX2035wm 20" lcd. No problems
with the NEC.
|
| My second machine is not connected to the monitor when it
boots, so
| the monitor is not seen and comes up as default monitor. I
changed the
| default to see the Viewsonic, but the resolution is wacked
out.
| I think the other computer may have the same problem, but
don't want
| to go there yet !!
|
| Went through to whole monitor and ATI driver setup a few
times.
| Did a repair reinstall of XP.
| I do have the icm file in win\sys32\spool\color.
| But I haven't found the .inf or .pnf files.[don't know if
I really
| need them] since the .icm file is where it should be.
|
| I emailed Viewsonic since I beleive it is their driver
that is bad
| since the NEC worked fine.
|
| Anyone have a idea ?
|
| Thanks
