Hi! My DVD drive was working properly. But suddenly when I was wathcing
a movie on DVD the movie stopped and the tray stucked. I couldn't open
the tray after that. Then I use safety-pin in the hole on the tray and
opened the tray. I can now open/close the tray manually when it is
empty, but if I enter any cd/dvd it stucks again and the drive can't
read any disk. I uninstalled the drive and each time my PC detects the
drive without any disturbance and shows that it's working properly. But
it's not working actually, as I can't use any disks!
Can anyone tell me how can I fix it and what could be the cause of this
type of problem? I'll be very glad if anyone can help.
Thanks-

Maybe the drive is no longer getting +12V inside ? Burned motor
controller ? Blown fuse, if one is present inside the drive ? The
fact that the status of the drive is good, may mean the logic is
still getting its +5V supply.
You can test it in another computer, just to confirm that the
symptoms remain the same. Also, check that the 1x4 Molex power
connector was fully seated in its connector. Maybe it came
loose, or you never pushed it fully into the socket.
