not really a fix but a workaround .....
Try plugging your headphones in where the speakers plug in .. if you get
sound go to your local electronic store and buy a 'y' adapter ... one male
plug to plug in where the speakers plug in now and two female plugs where
your speakers will plug in now and one for your headphones to plug in ...
when you want to listen in headphones only just turn off your speakers

Sorry for what will no doubt seem a stupid question. I have desktop
speakers,
but occasionally will use headphones. Lately, I can't seem to listen
through
headphones. Troubleshooting reveals no problems. I have tried several
different sets of headphones, and have plugged them into the jacks in the
front and in the back of the pc case. I have used them before, but can't
make
them work now. Any advice?
