The BIOS is the Basic Input/Output System, it is the
instructions that tell the computer how to turn itself ON
and how to boot. Your computer manual should have
instructions on how to open [access] the BIOS. You do this
before Windows boots just after first turning the power ON.
Often you press the F1 or F2 key, you might press F8 before
Windows begins to load and you will get a boot menu, that
may have the option of something like "press F2 to enter
setup" which is the BIOS.
Some one may have downloaded a virus or changed a setting
and disabled the drives. Hard to troubleshoot from a
distance and w/o more details about your system make and
model.

| Thank you for your suggestions, I will definitely try
checking the
| connections. About checking the settings in the BIOS? I
haven't the
| slightest clue on how to go about doing this, much less,
know what I am
| looking for. If I can ask for your help again with this
issue concerning the
| BIOS, I'd reallllllly appreciate it. Otherwise, Thank you
so very much for
| your suggestions (((Jim))).
