The drive is working ok. I can play DVD movies from it as well as
audio CDs. The program I'm trying to install is a backup program for a
Maxtor One-Touch II USB drive. The docs say it's compatible with
Windows XP, and I have installed it on another computer with no
problems. Again, what happens after I insert the disk is that the
Setup program briefly flashes onto the screen, then disappears. On the
other computer, the setup program stays on the screen and I'm able to
load. Frankly, I am stumped...
Can you install anything else from that drive? If not, replace the
drive.
Since you know the drive is working and the problem is only with the
Maxtor software, contact Maxtor tech support.
