USB Web Cam Driver issue

Hello,
I wonder if you can help me, I have purchased a Logitech Webcam and have
tried to install it on a Windows XP SP2 machine and get the following error

"the driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry.
This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later"

Just out of curiosity, and because my instinct and 9 years of experience in
IT tells me that this isn't right, I tried it on my Tablet PC Also XP SP2
and it worked perfectly.

I thought I would also try some other non-driver specific USB devices like a
USB hub - SAME PROBLEM!

Any ideas?
Regards
GK
