The hw you require/use should be that needed to run whatever software you
use and unless you are a heavy gamer, with the latest games updateing to
PCIE will be of no advantage
There is a world of difference between real world benchmarks and lab
benchmarks.
Replaceing the mobo requires a winxp repair installation, and installing
drivers supplied with that mobo

I am at a point now that my existing motherboard (Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe)and
CPU (AMD Athlon 3500+) can no longer accomodate some of the new devices.
example, the transition between AGP to PCIE videlo cards. Further I heardresult,
that soon Intel will come out with their latest power chip and as a
AMD will drop its prices by as much as 50%, a pretty good incentive toupgraded
upgrade.
My concern however is that most of my other PC components have been
and I wish to save as many of them as I can. I have 1.5 Gig of DDR400memory.
I will have to get a PCIE video card. What criteria do I have to be awareof
regarding selecting upgraded motherboards and CPU and still keep most ofthe
existing components. Also do I have to reload my OS (WINxp) and do I haveto
reactivate OS?
