Only one core working

Have Asus P5VD1-X
Win xp Pro SP2 P805 Dual Core
7600GT
2x 512 MB PC 3200
Have lost Dual Core capablity, Used to see two graphs in task manager but
now only one.
Have updated ASUS Bios to latest 507 , all xp updates.
Bios sees two cores on startup.
2 processors seen in Device manager, which state they are working correctly.
Device shows ACPI multi processor.
Yet only one chart appears on Task Manager graph, function to see one chart
per CPU greyed out, and Premiere 2 only sees one processor.
have done full clean install of XP, deleted processors from device manager
and
redetected, no joy. only one still showing on task manager.
Sisoft sandra and CPUID and intell ID show no errors so where has my 2nd
core gone.
If i enable hyperthreading in bios( i know its not a hyperthread proc). Xp
Task manager shows two graph charts and premiere shows multi processor but
it crashes.
help.
