I installed a 512MB DIMM that matches the existing 512MB DIMM but now
Internet Explorer, The Media player and other applications crash. I allow
for
automatic updates and even ran it manually to make sure I have all XP
patches. The compter recognixes the 1 GB RAM and it shows up in System
Properties. Any thoughts?
the RAM is probably defective or of low quality
generally one should avoid "generic" RAM and go with known good name brands
.
