Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Had to hard boot my computer which was not responding (but which
showed my screen saver - except the screen saver was stuck). Usually
when this happens, I reboot, and don't get an abort dump nor message.
So I check the event viewer. I'm thinking it got stuck at 9:00 last
night. I turned it off at 5:45 this morning and rebooted. There is
nothing in the event viewer between those times.

All of my USB devices were unplugged, but I was connected to my router
to the DSL modem.

The following may be stuff that indicates where I should look.
