Installing Maxtor 250Gb SATA II drive onto ASUS P4V800D-X Motherboard
Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance
I've just put together a config based on the above motherboard. I've
installed a 2.6GHz P4 processor and 256MB of DDR and the POST works fine. I
have installed a brand new MAXTOR 250Gig SATA-II drived jumpered for 150Gb/s
operation.
In the BIOS I have SATA - IDE enabled (ie no RAID). The Bios correctly
reports a 250G Maxtor during POST as drive Master 3.
When I then try to install XP from my XPSP1 CD, the drive is reported as
being 131Gb. How do I get XP to recognise the correct size of the drive?
TIA
STeve
