You must install either NERO or ROXIO CD/DVD burning packages to be able to
burn to DVD's. There are of course others, but these two are the premium
packages used by most.

I recently built a new computer with an internal ASUS combination drive
(1608P2S) that seems to support all DVD formats. I have avoided installing
either of the 3rd-party software packages (Nero and ULead) that came with
the drive. I assumed that Windows XP sp2 supported DVD-writing natively.
But I can't get it to work...when I insert a writable DVD, I get an error
even trying to drag files to the folder that opens. Plus it makes me
suspicious when Windows labels it as a CD drive in so many places.
Does DVD burning on XP require third-party burning software? Thank you!
