2nd Hard Drive Issue

Installed a Maxtor 300GB drive. When I try to view the contents (video files)
thru Explorer or My Computer, the sytem refreshes back to the Desktop
screen. I can access the files thru programs but not thru Explore or MY
COMPUTER. Any help would be appreciated.
