I'm lost...this Isn't my thread... MY thread was listed with "memaw2ang..."'s
name after creating it, now my thread has my name on it as should be.
I received an email notification about a response to this thread from
Jonny's reply, now Its back to memaw2's message (that Ive never seen
before).Anyway...
I am trying to upgrade 1.0 to 2.0 on a PC, I have a 2.0 cable mount and a
few empty PCI slots, which Ill have to use instead of the USB pinsets (or
block connectors).
Yes they do vary, Ive heard on some sites suggesting you to get the MB's pin
layout and functions so you can manually change the cables connecting
sockets. But those suggestions were from 2001 and I havent found anything
more recent...

You never clarified what you are upgrading, PC or laptop..
Internally mounted to motherboard USB cable block connectors vary widely if
that's what you're talking about.

Thank you but I am already aware of this option but I have the cable mount
right here....
So I guess you mean to say the pinsets are not compatible....
thank you for your response and the relevant searches.

You would need to purchase and install a new USB 2.0 compliant
PCI card if you have a "desktop" computer.
Example:

If you have a notebook computer, then you would need
a PCMCIA USB 2.0 card.
