"When replacing a CDburner, does the existing burner software have to be
reinstalled "
Later versions of Nero (6.6x) may be OEM locked. If so, the new DVD-CD
burner will install and be recognized, but will not work with the various
applications in Nero. The solution seems to be to install the version
supplied with the new DVD/CD burner over the old install. Then, you may
need to reinstall the updates from the Nero site. I just went thru this with
a change from a Sony drive to a Memorex drive. Now, the Nero software seems
to be happy with either.
