okay that did not help the same external hard drive i tred it on my lab top and it install right away so i just need some help with my desktop is there some way of trouble shoot it so it will work please help thanks
What did the installation wizard want to install? Was the
external USB enclosure looking for a USB 2.0 port and there
were installed or available in the desktop?
You are running Windows XP? The USB drivers for the motherboard
are installed and USB is active in bios setup? In other words,
other USB devices are running properly? If all of the answers are
Yes, then this computer is looking at the external USB enclosure
as a different type of device. Re-read the instructions to make
sure that no further configuration of the external HD is required.
Visit its website and download any supporting files that might be
needed to recognize the hard drive.
