I have the above LightScribe drive, and it burns CD's and DVD's with no
problems.

I'm using Nero 6.6 and can't see how to burn "labels" on to the top
side of the disk. There is no option in Nero Label Creator, as far as I
can see. The BIOS picks up the drive OK, and so does Windows XP Pro
SP2. The drive has the latest firmware, and Windows/Nero is up to date.

It says "print" the picture, but can't see how to do this - It
obvioisly doesn't appear in my list of printers.

Any ideas?

Nick.

Nick:
In response to a request I recently received, I prepared some step-by-step
instructions for preparing labels using the Lightscribe process. I trust it
will be helpful to you.

1. After burning CD, turn over CD so label side is down and click Nero's
Cover Designer.
2. New Cover Designer opens with "New document" window. LightScribe icon
will be highlighted. Click OK.
3. Maximize Nero Cover Designer [New Document] window.
4. Click on "Text Box tool" (5th icon down on left side of screen).
5. Draw a text box on CD by holding down left mouse button and drawing a
rectangle. When you release the mouse button the text box will change to a
circular shape.
6. Double-click inside the text box.
7. The Properties window will open. You can center your text by clicking on
the Centering icon.
8. If you want a simple rectangular box for your text rather than the
default circular shape, click on the Bend tab and uncheck "Bend object" box.
9. Change font, font size, etc. if you want. I usually bold all text so
that it will stand out better from the dull background.
10. If you don't want the rectangular box enclosing your text, i.e., you
just want the text against the CD background, click the Brush tab, then
click the X button so that the colored icon of the CD will turn to gray.
10. Click on Print LightScribe Label (5th icon from left side of screen).
11. I usually select Best contrast. Click Preview button to check the
design.
12. Click Print when you're satisfied with the design.

(It's a slow process to print the label at the Best contrast; took me about
21 minutes)
