Re: USB Device Not Reconized

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I've found that sometimes when I connect a USB device to a port on my PC it
will say Device Unrecognised, but plug it into another port and looky looky,
it works fine, try plugging it directly into the back ports on your
tower/case, rather than any front ports or a USB hub, failing that, email
Sony back and say you ahve all the required operating systems and see what
they say

I really hope someone can help me out...

I bought a Playstation Portable and I'm trying to put photos on it, but
when
i plug in my USB to my PC it says "USB Device Not Reconized"? I e-mailed
Playstation for help and this is the reply I received... and I'm still
lost??

The PSP(TM) portable entertainment system can connect to a computer using
a
USB connection because
it can be accessed as a standard USB Mass Storage device. The computer
must
have an operating system
that supports USB Mass Storage devices. This includes Windows XP
Home/Professional, Mac OS X, and
others. When using operating systems that do not come with support for
USB
Mass Storage devices,
you may need to download additional software or drivers to enable support
for these devices. We
recommend contacting the manufacturer of your computer or operating
system
(i.e. Microsoft, Apple,
etc.) for additional assistance.

Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc. (SCEA) does not require a
proprietary driver for the PSP
system to be recognized by your computer. If your operating system does
not
recognize the PSP
system, you will need to download a standard USB Mass Storage device
driver
that is appropriate to
your particular operating system. Although the PSP system can be used as
a
USB Mass Storage device,
device drivers for this class of peripherals are not part of SCEA's
product
line; please consult
with the manufacturer of your operating system for the proper USB driver
download.
