CD wont read original cd's

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I have updated to SP 2 recently and I now have a problem with an LG cd
burner.
The burner will read any burnt cd's but will not read any original cd's
(Example- any game cd)

I have tried uninstalling the burner in Device Manager but the problem is
still there after restarting. The burner still burns cd's with no problem.

Any suggestions ?
