I have talked to WD 3 times. They weren't able to help me arrive at a solution. In thier defense, I don't think it is their problem to solve. I think it is more of MS issue. (Maybe a registry problem) The reason I think that is because my Minolta digital camera gives me the same error when I connect it up via USB to my PC.
Something is preventing any new drivers from loading. I'm baffled.
From where are you getting the SATA driver files? Usually, they are found in the cdrom that came with the motherboard. If not, there might be a driver upgrade at the website for the maker of the motherboard.
