It is a HP Computer and I went on their site and downloaded their
motherboard specs. It shows that the jumpers on the board can be configured
up to 500MHz
and it only has PC66 or PC100 bus speeds.

I don' think putting a 500MHz chip in would help that much, so I'm
giving up the idea and being everything is working OK with a Max of 384MB
SDRAM I'll wait until the whole thing gives up the ghost and put in a new
motherboard and CPU

I don't use the computer for any games or extensive graphics, mostly
used for WordPerfect, StarOffice, Excel, Quicken, and other programs.
