Clicking from a hard drive could be the start of a bearing failure.
Once the bearings go, the drive is trash. That happened to my work
computer about six months ago, with no warning. Ouch.
I've also heard a drive head crash before, on a home computer. THAT
was a very unpleasant sound. Ouch again.
