IF YOU PROVIDE the drivers that MAKE it work in WinXP and it will work. It has NOTHING to do with WinXP and EVERYTHING to do with the drivers that mak it work.

But the technical support people from Gigabyte didnt mention this compability problem. They said that the card supports only AGP 1.0 and FX5200 requires AGP 2.0. This seems like a problem, but I managed to make the card work perfeclty under WinME! I just cant understand why it is not working only under WinXP!

I Have A BX2000 Motherboard And Also Have The Same Problem With My XFX Nvidia Geforce FX 5200! I Found Out Just Now! That This Card Is Not Compatible With This Motherboard So I Am Getting A New Motherboard Which Is Very Cheap Around (£30-£50)

I am beginning to think that WinXP has a definite problem here, becase my system configuration is perfectly running under WinME which has not any VgaSave drivers. I installed many drivers for my video card including the latest ones(Winfast FX5200). I have updated bios and chipset drivers of motherboard (GA BX2000+). I tried to configure BIOS settings of motherboard, but unfortunately VgaSave is still running. I am really tired and thinking to post this hardware problem to Microsoft!

But why do I have to put the battery out? Do you mean power supply by 'the battery' or what? I have updated my Bios and adjusted to the default settings many times in Bios Setup. Are there other settings which you cannot adjust to default in Bios Setup program?

I Had The Same Problem, I'ts The BIOS What You Have To Do Is Open Up Your PC And Take The Battery Out Then Put It Back In This Will Go Back To Default Settings And Will Def Work!

Hi all,
My problem is that my new video card seems incompatible with WinXP Pro. But i have checked the compability of Winfast FX5200 with the signature verify program and there is no problem there. I cannot make it work properly! I tried to uninstall the drivers that came with the installation cd and downloaded the updated version from Leadtek's website. The problem is still there... I thought that there may be a problem with my motherboard(gigabyte BX2000+) and downloaded the latest inf files. It didnt work...
Why VgaSave is running instead of my video card? I tried one more thing: I installed WinME instead of WinXP pro, and yes my card is running this time! I know that there is not VgaSave in WinME. Is the problem with this VgaSave driver or is there just a conflict between the drivers?
I want to stay with WinXP pro, but this situation prevents me to work with it.
PLEASE HELP!!!
