Windows XP reboots

I just installed Win Xp Home edition and am having trouble with the system
rebooting. It seems to only happen when I am accessing the DVD writer. I
would suspect a power supply issue, but when I had Windows 98, I ran
basically the same system and had no problems. I am new to Win Xp and not
overly impressed yet. Can anyone help.
