I have a Wireless Natural MM keyboard that was working fine, but no longer
is. I have tried to resync with the controller, and I don't think it is
really resycing, as when I resynch the mouse the controller lights stop
flashing as soon as I hit the connect button on the mouse, whereas the
lights keep blinking afterI hit the keyboard button, untill the synch seems
to time out. I have tried new batteries, and verified battery and signal
status, and traded the whole shebang in for a new retail box. Still nothing.
I am running WinXP sp2, and I am assuming some patch or program install is
the source of the problem, but I took the whole thing in to my old office
and tried to install on a machine there, and had basically the same issue,
but I was able to log in, after which they keyboard again failed to work. I
have tried uninstalling the software and rebooting, then reinstalling
everything, I have verified that a USB mouse and keyboard will work in the
USB port I am using for the controller, and that a PS/2 keyboard works in
the PS/2 port I am using.
One thing to note is that it shows up as an HID Keyboard Device rather than
a Microsoft USB Wireless Keyboard. The mouse shows up as an HID device until
the reboot after install, but the keyboard remains an HID device.
I really want this thing to work, but I can't afford to mess with things
that much, I need to make a living, and the old wired keyboard is doing
that.
I did find a reference to some exe that tests keyboards, and that if this is
running, the keyboard will not work as the software is intercepting
keystrokes. I verified that this exe is not running, indeed it doesn't exist
on my machine.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Gordon
