Depending on if the procesor is AMD or Intel, there should be a utility that
you can download so as to check to see if your processor is indeed the
correct processor you bought. Intel has a utility which you can check to
see if the processor was remarked (lower speed CPU counterfeited to a high
speed).
AS for the hard drive, the manufacturer of the hard drive should have
utilities to check the "quality" of the drive. Maxtor has MaxBlast.
