Original prob - get 2 pcs sharing Internet access, SOLVED with this ng
help.
2 Lan cards in host, one to cable modem, the other to the Lan card of 2nd pc
via crossover cable.
Worked fine, both pc's on-line simultaneously.

Thought I'd go one better, and fully network. Followed the step by step
instructions here
http://www.careyholzman.com/xp/home/xphome-1.htm

Disabled (not uninstalled) XP firewall first, as instructed. At an early
stage, noticed the Lan connection to PC2 became disfunctional, however,
carried on (including the registry patch)..
PC1 (host pc) still has internet access (and XP firewall restored) I don't
have Pro, so final page step not possible.

There's no instruction, so assumed 2nd pc had to be similarly set up.
Disabled XP firewall, repeated all steps EXCEPT as it no longer has access
to the Internet, couldn't d/l and install the patch.

CURRENT STATUS - PC 1 working normally except "HOME" (named) network not
active, Lan connection to PC2 has exclamation mark. PC2 - Lan connection
not working, no internet access.

Am I expecting too much, or is it possible to have both shared internet and
a network set up this way? If it is possible, what have I done wrong? (One
thing, may be relevant - my pc's name is "enigma", my daughter's "zodo" -
the network name on both is "HOME".) Do both pc's have to have the same
name?

Have managed to extract the Registry patch text - below, if it has any
relevance.
