I'm still not convinced that there's actually a problem, but since you
apparently have access to other computers and similar monitors, have you
tried swapping in order to isolate the phenomenon to either the monitor or
the graphics hardware? I mean putting the monitor on a different computer
and/or putting a similar NEC monitor on the "problem" computer. No sense
actually switching cards if you don't have to.
