I am going to be blunt here. Your hardware not working after installing
Service Pack 2 is Microsoft's fault. Their Service Pack seems to
overwrite or alter many drivers throughout the system. This can often
times be fixed by reinstalling the drivers. It shouldn't be this way,
but Canon needs to release SP2 compliant drivers/software.

SP2 was built to help with security, but there are so many things that
can go wrong along the way, that it shouldn't surprise people. It
shouldn't happen, but it shouldn't be surprising either.
