You can try disabling Write Caching, but that may degrade system
performance. I would trade that off for system stability though. To
disable write caching, open Device Manager (Start-Run-devmgmt.msc),
expand the Disk Drives, double click on the problem drive, click the
Policies Tab, uncheck enable write caching on this disk.
