The adapters require unique drivers. One would expect that the Adaptec
Drivers will need to be installed.
Unless you get a better response, or have a good explanation of the
requirements in your user manual for the Adaptec, my approach would be:
1. Install Adaptec Adapter [without HDD] and boot to Windows
2. Windows will recognise the device as new, possibly requesting the
drivers, which you'll provide.
3. Shutdown the PC.
4. Install the hard drive on Adaptec adapter [do not remove the Iwill].
5. Reboot to Windows and if it boots up you have finished the task.
6. If not contact Adaptec or view their web pages for an explanation as to
the process and steps to take.
